lead surveyor roberto lusa of studio topografico uses the zoom80 for all stake out and surveying tasks on two of the spectacular high rise buildings set to dominate the new residential and business district.
the zoom80 is being used in the construction of the first tower, the straight one (il dritto), designed by japanese architect arata isozaki. when complete it will be amongst the tallest buildings in italy by roof height, standing at 207m.
the time saving, high accuracy benefits provided by the zoom80 are also being felt on survey work for the second tower, known as the twisted one (lo storto), designed by zaha hadid. a third tower, the curved one (il curvo), has been created by daniel libeskind.
when complete the €523 million citylife project will see the historic neighbourhood of fiera milano transformed into a contemporary hub for living and working, with luxury apartments, underground parking, a landscaped park, a museum of contemporary art and a dedicated metro station. |
